Lavender Arrowhead

(Click on picture for expanded view.)

(Stamile P,  2000, 36”, 9”, EM EV fra emo RE Tet)  His description includes:  3-way branching, 15-18 buds.  Lavender, chartreuse yellow appliqué throat that reminds you of six arrowheads all pointing into the center of the throat.  One of our most heavily used parents for lavender and pink spiders.  The form is crispate.

-- Comments:   The appliqué throat is really special on this flower!  This gem was very hardy in my Zone 5 NH garden, where we generally saw a higher bud count on each scape than the hybridizer lists, and had good increase and good scape count.  However, the performance is much weaker in my current Zone 4 northern garden, where the increased direct sunlight hours will lighten the lavender.  (Our NH property was surrounded by very tall trees, which is most definitely not the case here on our MN property.)  Parent of 32 registrations.
